Top Layer Re offers innovative, custom-designed products and programs backed by outstanding financial security and strong claims-paying ability.

Top Layer Re is a joint venture owned 50% by Renaissance Reinsurance and 50% by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (“State Farm”), the largest property-casualty insurance company in the U.S. Top Layer Re’s business is exclusively managed and underwritten by Renaissance Underwriting Managers, Ltd. (“RUM”), a part of our Ventures group, pursuant to a long-term arrangement and derives benefits from Renaissance Reinsurance‘s proprietary risk-modeling technology and disciplined underwriting expertise.

Top Layer Re is rated “AA” and “A+” by Standard and Poor’s and A.M. Best.
