Loretta J. Mester has served as a director of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. since November 2024. Dr. Mester is a Class II Director. Dr. Mester served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland from 2014 until her retirement in 2024. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, she served at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in a variety of roles, including executive vice president and director of research. Dr. Mester has held various positions at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania since 2001 and is currently an adjunct full professor of finance, and is also a senior scholar at the Griswold Center for Economic Policy Studies at Princeton University. She also serves as a trustee of the Cleveland Clinic, a director of the Council for Economic Education, a trustee of the Musical Arts Association (Cleveland Orchestra), a founding director of the Financial Intermediation Research Society, a member of the senior council of the Central Bank Research Association, a member of the advisory board of the Financial Intermediation Network of European Studies, and as a member of the Visa Economic Institute Advisory Council. Dr. Mester is currently a member of the Board of Directors of The Haverford Trust Company, an SEC registered investment advisor. Over the course of her career, Dr. Mester participated in the formulation of U.S. monetary policy, engaged in the supervision and regulation of commercial banks, and oversaw an organization that conducted economic research, promoted community development and provided payment services to the U.S. Treasury.
